The purpose of this instruction is to provide guidance on the use and issuance of Qatar Airways e-

tickets on and after 01JUN2008, when paper tickets are eliminated from IATA BSPs.

E-TICKETING

Effective 01JUN2008, paper tickets must not be issued on BSP neutral paper ticket stock using

Qatar Airways airline accounting code (157 QR).

All airports in Qatar Airways are ET enabled.

When making an amendment to a booking that has previously been issued as e-ticket, it is

imperative that follow up action is taken either to:

• revalidate the original e-ticket (in Qatar Airways offices only)

• reissue an e-ticket through your GDS to reflect the new itinerary

Qatar Airways does not support the issuance of open e-tickets flight coupons.

INTERLINE PARTNERS

From 01JUNE 08, Qatar Airways will continue to accept paper tickets issued by other airlines after

31MAY2008 as there is no MITA rule at the moment to restrict an interline agreement to electronic

only.

This will be reviewed within 2 months and the acceptance policy might change for tickets issued

after 31AUG2008.

All interline agreements where IET is not implemented have been terminated with effect from

01JUN2008 except for the following:

A7/ AF / B8 / D3 / GA / JO / LN / SD / SU / UX

These carriers have committed to implement IET before end of AUG.

Some of our IET partners do not support INF e-ticketing, therefore in case of an interline journey

with and infant where the partner does not support INF IET, kindly proceed as it follows:

• Issue the adult ticket on the full itinerary

• Issue the Infant ticket on the QR part of the itinerary only

• Refer the passenger to the partner airline for the INF ticket

The following airlines can not at this stage support INF e-ticketing:

AA / AP / BR / CA / CI / CZ / DL / FM / IC / IT / LH / MU / NW / NX / QF / UA / UM / VS

VMDP

Iata BSP will remove MCO from the travel agents with effect 01Jun2008. These will be replaced by

VMPD. Reason for issuance code:

• D – Land arrangements for inclusive tour

• J – Deposit /down payment

• L – Hotel accommodation

• O – other services (i.e. ticket – ebt – cargo - pta)

The VMPD number must always be inserted in the PNR with all the details and enter the

associated ticket number.

1) Maximum value for each Unspecified VMPD will be USD 750 only and the Maximum value for

each Specified Transportation VMPD will be 2,500 only.

2) If higher value is required then multiple VMPDs can be issued which do not exceed the

individual VMPD maximum limit.

3) It is not possible to modify the VMPD after issue and VMPD with discrepancies will be rejected

and will not be validated. In both cases can only be voided by QR offices.

4) A VMPD will be accepted at the airport only after being validated in BSP link by QR staff. All

the VMPD issued by Agent must be directed to QR offices for validation before handing

over to passengers.

5) A VMPD has to be utilised in full. There will not be any VMPD with partial utilisation. Hence

when a VMPD is issued the amount has to be collected for the correct and actual service to be

provided. If the VMPD value is not correct, then it has to be voided and new VMPD for the correct

value to be issued.

6) For the issue of Excess Baggage or for Cargo service at airports only validated VMPD with QR

validation stamp will be accepted. This validation has to be done prior to going to the airport for

travel. (VMPD to be printed and stamped by QR Office). In case VMPD is not validated properly,

the document might not be honoured by Qatar Airways airport staffo.

a. The QR Office to ensure that a VMPD issued for excess baggage should be

validated only if the passenger also holds a passenger ticket.

b. All EBTs issued in exchange of VMPD should contain the VMPD number clearly in

the “FOP” and “in exchange” field of EBT by the QR airport staff check-in staff.

7) For Refunds, agents have to request through BSP link (Refund Application), which will be

investigated by QR Office and QR Station Finance will authorize each refund application by

through the BSP link.

8) QR Office will not charge any penalty for such refunds or voiding VMPDs

All Travel Agents are kindly requested to return to Qatar Airways the manual plate within
