GENERAL
The purpose of this instruction is to provide guidance on the use and issuance of Qatar Airways e-
tickets on and after 01JUN2008, when paper tickets are eliminated from IATA BSPs.
E-TICKETING
Effective 01JUN2008, paper tickets must not be issued on BSP neutral paper ticket stock using
Qatar Airways airline accounting code (157 QR).
All airports in Qatar Airways are ET enabled.
When making an amendment to a booking that has previously been issued as e-ticket, it is
imperative that follow up action is taken either to:
• revalidate the original e-ticket (in Qatar Airways offices only)
• reissue an e-ticket through your GDS to reflect the new itinerary
Qatar Airways does not support the issuance of open e-tickets flight coupons.
INTERLINE PARTNERS
From 01JUNE 08, Qatar Airways will continue to accept paper tickets issued by other airlines after
31MAY2008 as there is no MITA rule at the moment to restrict an interline agreement to electronic
only.
This will be reviewed within 2 months and the acceptance policy might change for tickets issued
after 31AUG2008.
All interline agreements where IET is not implemented have been terminated with effect from
01JUN2008 except for the following:
A7/ AF / B8 / D3 / GA / JO / LN / SD / SU / UX
These carriers have committed to implement IET before end of AUG.
Some of our IET partners do not support INF e-ticketing, therefore in case of an interline journey
with and infant where the partner does not support INF IET, kindly proceed as it follows:
• Issue the adult ticket on the full itinerary
• Issue the Infant ticket on the QR part of the itinerary only
• Refer the passenger to the partner airline for the INF ticket
The following airlines can not at this stage support INF e-ticketing:
AA / AP / BR / CA / CI / CZ / DL / FM / IC / IT / LH / MU / NW / NX / QF / UA / UM / VS
VMDP
Iata BSP will remove MCO from the travel agents with effect 01Jun2008. These will be replaced by
VMPD. Reason for issuance code:
• D – Land arrangements for inclusive tour
• J – Deposit /down payment
• L – Hotel accommodation
• O – other services (i.e. ticket – ebt – cargo - pta)
