Greetings, Sorors:
This document is provided to give you a summary of the events that will occur from
October 5-8, 2022 as we celebrate the Centennial of Nu Chapter. We have invited
our Supreme Basileus, Soror Danette Anthony Reed, and our Great Lakes Regional
Director, Soror Gwen Kirtley, to join us in this celebration.
You are being asked to do the following:
Register before August 31, 2022 (There will be no on-site registration)
Plan to assist with our Tent Project (Deadline July 31, 2022)
Attend all events
Place an ad in our Centennial Souvenir Journal or place the name of a patron
or Ivy Beyond the Wall in the Journal
Assist us as we finalize our contributions of $1,000 to be on the Honor Roll
of our Nu Chapter Endowed Scholarship
Information is included in this document to provide you with updates. Share it with
other sorors whose names are not on the Nu Chapter List Serve. To register for
WVSU Homecoming Alumni Activities, you must visit the WVSU Alumni website.

Please join us as we celebrate Nu Chapter's Centennial Anniversary at West Virginia State
University by helping us support the TRIO Student Support Services pantry located in Sullivan
Hall with monetary and item donations. The program supports students who reside on and off
campus by providing food and personal care items. Donations may be made in 2 ways:
1) The preferred way is to purchase items from Nu chapter's Amazon registry, using the link
that is available on the WVSU Centennial website.
2) Monetary donations can also be made through the WVSU Foundation (tax deductible)
using the link provided on the Centennial Site. Please designate from the drop down box,
and click on other. Type in "Nu Centennial/TRIO" and select the amount you wish
to donate.

DONATIONS TO THE NU CHAPTER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Donations for the Nu Chapter Endowed Scholarship will be accepted at any time. However, in order for
your name to be included in the Centennial Journal, all contributions must be received by August 31, 2022.
Guidelines for the Endowed Scholarship are provided below. If you wish to donate, use the link that is
provided below:

Click on Levels of Giving and the Nu Chapter Scholarship is the last box. You must choose your level
of giving.
The Nu Chapter Endowed Scholarship
The Nu Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Scholarship was established on October 2017. The following are
the requirements for eligibility: Applicants must be a female student, classified as a sophomore or junior, have
at least a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate a financial need. Members of Nu Chapter will be given special consideration.
All applicants must submit the application packet to the Nu Chapter Scholarship Committee. The final selection
of the Nu Chapter Scholarship Committee will be forwarded to the WVSU Foundation for funding. Awards will
be based on available funds and can be used toward tuition, fees, board, or books. The following Sorors have
contributed at the Platinum Level with a minimum donation of $1000 to the Nu Chapter Endowed
Scholarship:
