Campus Overview
NASCAR Technical Institute (NASCAR Tech) is the country’s first technical training school to combine a
complete automotive technology program and a NASCAR-specific motorsports program. The school is
the exclusive educational partner of NASCAR.
NASCAR Tech is a subsidiary of Universal Technical Institute (NYSE: UTI) , the leading provider of
postsecondary education for students seeking careers as professional automotive, diesel, collision repair,
motorcycle and marine technicians.
The campus opened in July 2002 and graduated its first class in August 2003.
The 146,000-square-foot facility is located in Mooresville, N.C., which is also known asRace City USA.
The town is 20 miles north of Charlotte, N.C.
The school has the capacity to train up to 1,800 students.
NASCAR Tech is on the 2016 Military Friendly Schools® list published by Victory Media in recognition of
efforts to ensure the success of America's military service members, veterans and spouses as students.
There are approximately 120 employees at the NASCAR Tech campus.
Specialized Training
NASCAR Tech provides the training necessary to excel as an entry-level automotive service technician.
Core Program
Automotive The program teaches students how to diagnose, maintain and repair domestic and foreign
automobiles.
Manufacturer-Specific Advanced Training
Ford FACT (Ford Accelerated Credential Training)The 15-week program teaches students about the
equipment and procedures used in Ford and Lincoln service departments around the nation.
NASCAR Technology The 15-week program teaches students the skills, speed and precision NASCAR
demands from its technicians.
Nissan Automotive Technician Training (NATT)The 9-week program provides training to troubleshoot,
repair and maintain chassis, climate, drive train, electrical and engine systems for Nissan and Infiniti
vehicles.
Mopar Technical Education Curriculum (Mopar TEC) training program Beginning Fall 2016, the
MoparTEC program will offer instruction in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance and repairs, customer
service and dealership operations for Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep and Ram automobiles
and trucks.
Accreditation
NASCAR Tech is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC),
which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
ACCSC has recognized NASCAR Tech as a 2014 ACCSC School of Excellence.
STEM
Universal Technical Institute participates in the STEM Education Coalition, a nationwide initiative that
reflects our commitment to ensure science, technology, engineering and math skills are interwoven
throughout our curriculum.
UTI has been designated a 2016 STEM Jobs
Approved College by Victory Media, the leader in helping
America’s military veterans transition to civilian life.
Community Champions
Employees and their families as well as students are actively involved in the community. The campus is actively
involved in Stocks for Tots, which was created to bring together stock car racing and its fans while raising
awareness of the child abuse problem in North Carolina. NASCAR Tech has served as the host venue for the
event for the last three years and has helped raise money and collect toys for those in need.
