Incident Summary: Update: As of May 7, 2024, detectives have identified four additional persons of
interest they need to interview in regards to this incident. Detectives are again asking for help from our
community partners. If you know the whereabouts or identities of the four additional persons of interest,
please call Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477). ***
*** Update: May 1, 2024, detectives have identified the suspect in this case as Jaquan Curry and have
issued a warrant for his arrest. Detectives also need to identify three additional persons of interest and
are asking for assistance from our community partners. If you know the whereabouts of Mr. Curry or the
three additional persons of interest in this incident, please call Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-
TIPS (8477). ***
On April 29, 2024, patrol officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of N. High St. on the report of a fight
and shots fired. Upon arrival, they found an individual suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers provided aid to the victim until Columbus Fire Medic #7 arrived and took over care. Victim #1
was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite receiving life-saving medical care,
victim #1 was pronounced deceased at 3:06 a.m. Victim #2 and victim #3 were assaulted during the fight
and were treated at a local hospital as well.
