Program:
The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Professions degree is designed to prepare
students with foundational healthcare knowledge for educational pathways into baccalaureate-
required allied health professions. Advanced courses required by specific allied health education
programs will build a foundation on the university core courses for students to meet required
admission standards of allied health programs requiring a baccalaureate degree.

Admission Requirements
1. Submission of a completed application to William Carey University
2. Must be in good standing at William Carey University and have a cumulative grade point average 2.75
3. Must have a minimum grade of C in all transfer courses
4. Submit the completed and notarized criminal background check affidavit
5. Evidence of a negative drug screen prior to participating in a practicum course
Progression:
Students in the Health Professions program are required to maintain a GPA 2.5 on
Health Professions major courses.
Any courses with a grade of D or F must be repeated.
Major core courses may be repeated twice to achieve a minimum grade of C.
No more than three individual courses may be repeated.

General Electives: 13 hours
The general electives will be used to complete any pre- or corequisites required for the specific allied health
professions.
Health Professions Electives: minimum of 15 hours
Students will complete the BS in Healthcare Professions curriculum by enrolling in a minimum of 15 hours of
BIO, CHE, or PHY courses to meet the admission requirements of allied health programs or program completion.
All courses may be chosen with the approval of the academic advisor. Students must complete at least 40
upper-level hours (300-400) to meet graduation requirements.
Allied Health Program Completion (2+2): up to 30 hours
Applicants with an associate’s degree in an allied health profession who hold a license, certificate, or registry
will be awarded up to 30 credit hours.
