BASIC CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION
FREE TRAINING
The Crime Scene Invesgaon Course consists of three -2day sessions. These sessions include: Crime
Scene Photography, Latent Print Recovery, Basic Evidence Collecon. Each session will be presented at
various locaons across the state. Parcipants may aend sessions at any locaon. Upon compleon of
all three sessions, the parcipant will be awarded a Basic Crime Scene Invesgators Cercaon.
CRIME SCENE PHOTOGRAPHY
GOAL: The purpose of this course is to provide the parcipant with the ability to appropriately
document crime scenes with digital photography.
Objecve: Upon compleon of the course, the parcipant will be able to:
Document evidence at crime scene or during criminal invesgaon acvies with a digital
camera using the program mode.
Document evidence at crime scene or during criminal invesgaon acvies with a digital
camera using the portrait mode,
Document evidence at crime scenes or during criminal invesgaon acvies with a digital
camera using the sports mode.
Document evidence at crime scenes or during criminal invesgaon acvies with a digital
camera using macro mode.
Document evidence at crime scenes or during criminal invesgaon acvies with a digital
camera using the aperture priority mode.
Document evidence at crime scenes or during criminal invesgaon acvies with a digital
camera using the shuer priority mode.
Document evidence at crime scenes or during criminal invesgaon acvies with a digital
camera using the manual mode.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Each parcipant will be responsible for providing a digital camera with
automac and manual modes, tripod, ashlight, appropriate clothing for
current weather condions.
Time: First day of class 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Second day of class 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
This class provides 12 hours APOST CEU credit
Parcipants must be employed by a law enforcement agency.
